Founded in the year 1906, the Bearys Group of Institutions which have blossomed from primary education into centres of higher learning, orchestrated the centenary celebrations in the year 2006.
The institutions are endeavouring to impart quality education to the rural students and in particular the marginalised and poor students. Our principal mission of imparting knowledge and training is to shape the students into citizens of immaculate character and propriety by developing the sense of self-esteem among them and instilling in them the urge for self-dependence. We have a fervent desire to serve the society and be instrumental in shaping the destiny of our beloved country, India. We impart knowledge and instil values to our students who will in turn strive to eradicate social evils, take upon themselves the task of empowerment of the exploited and remain committed to the long cherished values of life as good citizens of India.

I learn from the writings of great thinkers that a simpler and more profound principle of life is to “Live and let others live”. The tendency to estrange the ‘others’ and extreme indulgence in promoting our own concerns and identities by causing distress to the ‘others’, create hurdles for peaceful human existence.
I fervently feel that education is the only tool to address the causes thwarting the human existence. It is the education that liberates the individuals from ignorance to blossom into enlightened, large-hearted, virtuous, competent, and humanistic citizens of the nation for the greater cause of the society. Unfortunately, curriculum-oriented education has become a more knowledge-driven and career-oriented phenomenon, keeping aside many other more important facets of life. In the words of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan,“ The troubles of the whole world, including India, are due to the fact that education has become a mere intellectual exercise and not the acquisition of moral and spiritual values”. Consequently, understanding is suffering, human bonding is fading, and life is becoming distressful. Therefore, there is a need to expose and enlighten the students with other dimensions of education by involving them in more meaningful and purpose-oriented activities. I am happy to share that this has been our intense urge in all our academic pursuits from the beginning.
Our institution understands that we are living in a more competitive world demanding higher levels of global competencies. Therefore, we work ahead of time with a proactive attitude; research bent of mind understanding vivid dynamics of academics by gearing up the institutional processes and the resources leading the way to excellence and thus always be trend-setters in the educational arena. We have been able to accomplish this task and be forerunners with the active involvement and unflinching support and cooperation of all the stakeholders.
We cherish the belief that education involves the creation of opportunities for the learners to grow with their perseverance and capabilities. Furthermore, we, at Bearys College of Education, are engaged in toning up and formulating the designs and methodologies to foster and harness creativity and innovative thinking among the student-teachers by widening the horizon of institutional initiatives and mould them for a better tomorrow.
I conclude with the quote by Jean Piaget, Swiss Cognitive Psychologist, “The Principal goal of education is to create individuals who are capable of doing new things, not of simply repeating what other generations have done”.

Teaching is a noble profession. A teacher by his virtuous disposition can impact the character and empower tens and thousands of students to become worthy citizens of the country. Therefore, the responsibility of teachers of a teacher training college is more significant, as they need to understand their role clearly and play it meaningfully. In this context, I prevail upon my teacher-students friends to be creative and innovative in their teaching practices and develop new approaches aiming at excellence at all times. At the same time, I make an appeal to my student-teachers to imbibe in them the qualities to emerge as good and compassionate teachers. As the Principal of the college, I understand my responsibilities and I strive to consolidate the resources and put them to better use for the prosperity of the institution.

I am indeed fortunate to be a part of this holistic institution and the challenging environment. Undoubtedly, it is the greatest privilege of my life to lead an exceptional group in the nurture & creation of innovative future teachers.
Bearys foundation for Teacher’s Training continues its pursuit of excellence and provides ample opportunities for the students to hone their potential. Today’s preparation determines tomorrow’s achievement and we prepare teachers to be future ready. Today’s children are smart and expect their teacher’s to be doubly smart. Children of the 21 century are assertive, interesting and challenging to a capable teacher to interact with. Presently we are witnessing a sea change in relationships and social bonding with the world becoming more competitive by the day. The preparation required for the teacher to face the class has increased manifold in the wake of the exposure levels of the students. As teachers we are building individuals. To be effective in this, it demands a great level of responsibility and commitment.
I enjoy forever the vivacity of youth around me with the new flow of students that enroll year after year. The youth help us to always remain young; with them you never grow old at heart or in spirit. The young are always bubbling with life and in turn enliven the environment, your spirits and life itself. It is wrong to state that youth today are not keen to take up teaching as a profession. For the future pedagogues, teaching is not only the most respected profession but also a venture that helps to serve the society and develop individually. It offers both challenge and joy. It is an amazing experience and helps understand the society in which we are going to work in the future.
Bearys foundation for Teacher’s Training shapes teachers and instills in them the urge to make a difference that will culminate in leaving marks of excellence. It is bound to be recognized at the highest possible level in times to come. While the world has entered the new millennium, Bearys group of institutions has stepped forward surmounting all barriers marching ahead in its quest for excellence.

My Lord! Advance me in Knowledge. That is precisely what we endeavor to do at our institutions; we inculcate in our students the love for learning and provide an environment conducive to learning. Our institutions are set on the lap of nature and blessed with the best environment, most stimulating for learning. To add to this our team of knowledgeable, committed, and dedicated faculty leave no stone unturned in advocating love for learning and instilling lifetime values. Our primary aim is to spread literacy and help the rural children and economically deprived to have a good education. Above all, we believe in value-based holistic education which would help children to bloom into knowledgeable and good human beings. The seed that was sown by our forefathers over a century ago blossomed into a beautiful garden spreading its roots and branches. Welcome to the Bearys Group of Institutions- A place for endless learning ‘from the cradle to the grave’.

A brief history of our group
The saga of Bearys Institutions at Kodi began with the establishment of an Urdu School in a thatched hut in the year 1906 at the behest of Kote Sufi Saheb, a magnanimous patron, who while spearheading the cause of education, bequeathed his land to the school in the later years and erected the school building on the land donated. The legacy pioneered by Kote Sufi Saheb was nurtured and nourished with warmth and passion by his son Haji K Mohidin Beary who worked as a teacher in the school for thirty six years and retired in the year 1966. The years following the retirement of Haji K Mohidin Beary witnessed a dwindling strength in the school and in the year 1981, the strength was abysmally low almost endangering its existence. The poignancy of the school being on the brink of closure was unbearable for the Bearys Family, who got into action to stabilise the situation and take the legacy forward.
Mr. Syed Mohamed Beary, (Chairman of the Bearys Group, Bengaluru), son of Haji K Mohidin Beary, and a man of immense foresight, formed the Trust in the name of his father “Haji K Mohidin Beary Educational Trust” with his elder brother Haji Master Mahmood as the President, stabilised the existing institution and founded the new institutions at Kodi, Kundapur – his birth place, as a tribute to his ancestors and as a service to the marginalised and underprivileged sections of the society deprived of education. The Group understands that while functioning in a more competitive, demanding and challenging world, the important factors holding key to the delivery of excellence in education are the development of global competencies, the launch of new initiatives, the pursuit of innovative practises, and the constant engagement in research and development. In its earnestness to deliver excellence consistently, the Bearys Group of Institutions endeavours to marshal its resources constantly to keep abreast with the changing times.
